School of Mathematics
Prof Ken Ono From Emory University USA will be visiting the school of Mathematics on the 9th of Dec 2016.He will be giving a public lecture on Gems of Ramanujan and their Lasting Impact on Mathematics
Prof Ono Studied mathematics, specializing in number theory. He is an Asa Griggs Candler Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science at Emory University actively involved in mentoring young mathematicians of all ages.
Prof Ono spend much of his spare time outdoors among the activities that he enjoys include surfing, SCUBA diving, cycling, running, and swimming. Ono is also a member of the Timex-Trek Factory Triathlon Team he represented Team USA in the 2012, 2013, and 2014 ITU World Cross Triathlon Championship.
Prof Ono is married to Erika and are proud parents of Aspen, an accomplished ice skater, and Sage, a talented swimmer and karate black belt.
Prof Ono is an Associate Producer of the film “The Man who knew infinity” (starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons) about Ramanujan. The movie will be screened after the public lecture
During the Number theory Seminar he will present his recent proof of the Riemann Hypothesis for Modular forms with Stanford Professor Kannan Soundararajan
