Description of Conference

Theme:Nurturing the Future Generation of Mathematics Researchers in African Universities.

 

Objective:The objective of this conference is to provide mathematics researchers from around the world, with particular focus on Africa, with an opportunity to discuss latest developments and share their research results in contemporary areas of mathematics research and applications. This conference also intends to promote and explore new collaborations and farther existing partnerships with industry, and among the international mathematics community and in particular, young researchers in Eastern Africa.

The conference aims to have a collection of high class talks presented by exceptional local, regional and international speakers. As such all speakers will be invited by the organising committee,

The First CIMPA-ICPAM School on Applicable Algebraic Geometry in Kenya

 

 

 

TOPIC: Foundations (linear algebra and commutative algebra), basic algebraic geometry and algorithmic applications

 

 

OVERVIEW

 

ICPAM’s priority is support for young mathematicians from this geographical area:
- organisation of ICPAM research schools,
- support for the African Mathematical Schools (AMS) of the African Mathematical Union (AMU),
- support for workshops "women and Mathematics" of AMUCWMA (African Mathematical Union Committe for Women in Mathematics),
- support for the organisation of workshops,
- support for masters-level courses,
- placements for PhD students.

ICPAM has friendly relations with the African Mathematical Union.

ICPAM is a member of the Scientific Interest Group, Soutien aux Activités de Recherche en Informatique et Mathématique en Afrique (SARIMA – Support for Mathematical and Informatics Research in Africa).

The Ibni Prize is annualy awarded by a scientific committee appointed by CIMPA.

Description of Conference

The main goal of the Stochastic Modeling Techniques and Data Analysis International Conference (SMTDA2012) is to promote new methods and techniques for analyzing data, in fields like stochastic modeling, optimization techniques, statistical methods and inference, data mining and knowledge systems, computing-aided decision supports, neural networks and chaotic data analysis.

SMTDA aims at bringing together people from both stochastic and data analysis areas. Special attention is given to applications or to new theoretical results having potential of solving real life problems.
