Actuarial students visit Dagoretti Corner Rehabilitation Centre (DCRC) National Hidden Talents Academy

The children and staff of Dagoretti Corner Rehabilitation Centre (DCRC) National Hidden Talents Academy had reasons to smile as students from the school of Mathematics under the Nairobi University Actuarial Students’ Association (N’ASA) visited the home.

Dagoretti Corner Rehabilitation Centre (DCRC) National Hidden Talents Academy is a registered community-based organization under Dagoretti Corner Child Care Program (D.C.C.C.P) The center was founded by its current director Pastor Enos Baxic Oumo in 1993. Pastor Oumo started the center to offer free non-formal educational programme and home for orphans, destitute and street children. The center helps the children by nurturing their talents through music and drama and also sports, especially rugby where they are known for their prowess.

The children made sure the guests had a fun time by singing and dancing and later on playing a soccer match with the students.

The students prepared lunch and shared few gifts and food stuffs with the children at the center.

Nairobi University Actuarial Students’ Association (N’ASA) is an association within the school of mathematics. The association was formed by Actuarial students to:

  • To promote the welfare of students of the Department of Actuarial Science.
  • To bridge the gap between the student body, the University and the corporate fraternity.
  • To liaise with other associations for mutual benefit for the members.
  • To work with established professional institutions and ensure students play a more active role in shaping the future of the industry and the Actuarial profession
